Organic Certification

California Gourmet organic raisins are CCOF-certified as we are a CCOF-certified grower, which means that both our vineyards and facility are yearly inspected to ensure compliance with all CCOF organic regulations including but not limited to pesticides and fertilizers that we use, which are in compliance with the OMRI list of materials. In general, for fertilizing, we favor employing CCOF- approved compost and cover crop rather than CCOF-approved chemicals. We also conduct farm weeding by hand or by mechanical means NOT by spraying weed-killer chemicals. Finally, we mostly conduct pest control by employing beneficial insects locally purchased so that their effectiveness is exceptionally high and harmless to our crops, in that they are placed on the foliage within one hour after purchase from the entomologist.
